Sooty MKII - Shaun Wale 4WD24/7

ToyotaLandCruiser80 Series

Shaun Wale of 4WD24/7 frequently takes Sooty on some of Australia's toughest and most iconic four wheel drive tracks, and the modifications and parts required to pull it off have all been carefully selected, informed by decades of four wheel drive experience. Starting with the exterior mods, including the custom-made bull bar from Custom RV in Brisbane. With a sleek black Raptor coating, this bar is not only visually appealing but also incredibly durable. The bar is equipped with a pair of six-inch livid lights, providing an impressive amount of light for those dark off-road journeys. Additionally, a 22-inch nighttime light bar adds to the incredible lighting setup. On the performance side, a Dominator winch from Full Drive Service Centre ensures that any sticky situation can be easily conquered. In the suspension department, this 80 Series is fitted with superior drop arms, adjustable panhard, and King Springs, resulting in impressive flex capabilities. The rear features an ARB air Locker, providing full control and traction on rough terrains. While the front differential does not have a locker installed yet, the rear locker and well-maintained standard components keep the vehicle steady and capable. Under the hood, the factory turbo diesel engine has been enhanced with an aftermarket CT 26 turbocharger by MTQ. This upgrade ensures high performance and optimal power output whenever needed. The vehicle's electrical system has been developed for maximum efficiency. Two Century 4x4 Overland batteries are installed in the engine bay, offering increased cranking power and winching capabilities. A Redarc Manager 30 manages the 12-volt system in the back of the vehicle, powering the fridge, camp lights, and all charging needs. This advanced piece of technology displays battery status and load information, making it a pivotal tool for bush adventures. The vehicle is also equipped with a 1000-watt pure sine wave inverter, ensuring reliable power for all electronic devices. Moving to the interior, the cockpit remains relatively standard, with the addition of aftermarket seats for superior comfort. The vehicle is also equipped with GoPro mounts and microphone setups for recording off-road trips. True Fit floor mats keep the interior clean and tidy, ensuring no dirt or debris reaches the carpets. The rear of the vehicle showcases a practical and well-organized setup, ideal for long bush trips. A Dometic CFX 65-litre fridge offers ample storage space for food and beverages, with an easy slide drop-down fridge slide making access effortless. The vehicle features Titan drawers for tool storage and spare parts, ensuring everything is readily available. Various essential items, including camping gear, gas bottles, and cooking utensils, are neatly stowed away. Additionally, hidden around the vehicle, you'll find extra spare parts for emergencies. With its bead lock wheels, scrub rails, custom-made sliders, and reinforced roof rack, this 80 Series is ready to conquer any off-road challenge. The General Grabber X3 tires provide excellent traction, both on and off-road, making this vehicle an unstoppable force. This unique 1HD-FTE Factory Turbo 80 Series is more than just an off-road vehicle. Whether it's tackling the Glasshouse, Cape York, or the Simpson Desert, this beast handles it all with ease You can watch Sooty in action over on the 4WD24/7 Youtube Channel.
