Got a kings winch that admittedly hasn’t been used in almost a year, when I spool it out works great but trying to spool back in just getting clicking, has power to the terminals on top of the winch and even threw a new control box in just to try it, never pulled a winch apart to service one but by my limited google searching is it the brushes or something in the motor? Are they hard to replace? Should I get a freshie or just send it?

If you've tried a new control box and it's still having a issue, then most likely a cooked brush or internal issue with winch, winches a pretty easy to pull apart, start by taking the clutch off and giving everything a good clean and be sure to check the seals. Hope this helps
